I was dating a great guy. He had a solid career in a job he'd been with for years, I was self employed and could work anywhere. He owned a house, I was renting.
Logistically, it seemed to make more sense for me to move there, than for him to move to Canada.
I VERY quickly saw the error of my thinking, there. Spent the next decade doing everything I could to get us out.
Then Trump got elected, the (literal) Nazi crap I'd been yelling about for a decade got even MORE prolific, and I finally convinced my husband to emigrate to MY country.
We've been in Canada for 3.5 years now, he loves it. Life is SO much better.
Healthcare is only a part of it, both in why I hated everything about living in the USA, and why life is better here.
